G.R.E.A.T. & BEYOND:
Preventing Gangs & Youth Violence in Americas Communities
The 2006 G.R.E.A.T. National Training Conference will provide critical training designed to help G.R.E.A.T.
officers and others involved in the program:
- Increase participation in the G.R.E.A.T. Program.
- Promote widespread recognition and understanding of G.R.E.A.T.
- Enhance relationships among government and community partners, school staff, parents,
and students.
- Increase communication within the G.R.E.A.T. Program.
- Deliver highly qualified G.R.E.A.T. officers.
WORKSHOPS
In addition to networking opportunities and question-and-answer forums, this years
conference will be an intensive training opportunity where you can

COSTS
Through funding provided by the Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance,
the conference
registration
fee is waived. You will only be responsible for expenses such as travel, lodging,
and meals/incidentals. You may use G.R.E.A.T. grant funds for these other expenses.
CONFERENCE ATTIRE
Law enforcement officers are highly encouraged to be in uniform on the first day
of the conference, Wednesday, July 26. Thereafter, attire is business-casual. Jeans,
shorts, and similar clothing should not be worn at conference workshops.
ATTENDEES
This years national G.R.E.A.T. training will address the needs of individuals currently
implementing the G.R.E.A.T. Program, as well as those who want to become involved
with the program. In addition to G.R.E.A.T. officers, conference attendance is recommended
for:
- School district personnel.
- Law enforcement administrators and practitioners.
- G.R.E.A.T. supervisors.
- School resource officers.
- Crime prevention officers.
- Individuals representing youth-oriented programs.
- Legal and criminal/juvenile justice professionals.
- Community leaders.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
You will receive a certificate to document your attendance.
